Under the title “24 multicolored moments to Christmas,” one finds in the calendar a colorful mix from contemplation, tips, prescriptions, stories, mysteries, handicraft guidance, and much more besides. From the content concept to the design to the complete organization of the project, the Advent calendar was created voluntarily by the women of the network on their own. Thus, every cent of the proceeds could be earmarked for the children’s hospice.

The project was financed via the crowdfunding platform Startnext and with the help of BKB Charity.

The Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital in Nepal will be supported and will treat the poorest of the poor, especially children, free of charge. The aid in Tanzania is intended for the Nkoaranga Hospital (project “Feuerkinder”), where children suffering from burns or severe bone deformities are also operated on free of charge.

The Nut wedges by Meister Küfner are known in Nuremberg – and far beyond – for their high quality and unique taste. We hope for a successful campaign for the two aid projects.

Bom Jardim is the name of a district marked by poverty, violence and crime on the outskirts of Fortaleza, a city of millions in northeastern Brazil. Katiana Pena and her team have been helping children and young people to escape the lack of prospects at this social hotspot for years. In the dance school of the same name, Instituto Katiana Pena, more than 500 young people are already learning to create courage and hope and to improve their living conditions in a community of art and culture. Regular trips and performances in the region create new horizons and offer the opportunity to escape from the difficult environment.

BKB Charity supports the work of Katiana Pena and plans a further future cooperation in different areas. At Christmas time, for example, BKB Charity was involved in financing food packages for needy members of the dance school whose parents have little money to support their families. The aid packages included a variety of basic foodstuffs for the joy of the children as well as Christmas treats.

Composed by international dancers, sound designers, musicians, actors and video artists, this spectacular project also involved the active participation of refugees from many different parts of the world. With presentations on several stages as well as throughout the hall, spectators were invited to join the protagonists on a poignant journey against the backdrop of escape, dreams, imaginary worlds and the realities of refugees and migrants.

The performance was organised by dancers Cecilia Espejo and Pablo Sansalvador of the „Moving Rhizomes“ group of artists, who campaign for social change, as well as the „KunstWerk e.V. Ulm“ society as the co-organiser.

The event was supported by the humanitarian initiative BKB Charity within the framework of its aid programmes for refugees. The entire proceeds from ticket sales go to the „Menschlichkeit-Ulm e.V.“, which promotes refugee aid in the local area.

During the course of her visit at Bergmannsheil und Kinderklinik Buer (BKB) in Gelsenkirchen, Patricia Kelly and her film team shot a few scenes for her new music video “They Cut Me Down” on the helicopter pad. In the spontaneous interview that followed, she gave interesting insights in the creation of her music, referred to the production of her new CD and clarified for her fans her commitment to the aid projects of our humanitarian initiative BKB Charity.

BKB Charity is committed to the health care of refugees and beyond that to the entire issue of the refugees and promotes the publication and distribution of the book “Fluchtweg Fünfundzwanzig”.

At the spectacular premises of the traditional former Nordstern coal mine about 70 prominent guests from politics, business, sports and public life – headed up by former Federal Minister and Vice Chancellor Franz Müntefering and his wife, member of the Bundestag, Michelle Müntefering – were delighted by a diversified information and entertainment program. It was their chance to get to know the ambitious aid projects.

Some of the highlights for the palate were the exquisite 4-course-dinner prepared by Philipp Stein, Germany’s youngest star cook, as well as the chocolate candies created before the very eyes of the guests by Sabine Dubenkropp, German Chocolate Master 2015. In the informative part of the event representatives of Flüchtlingszeit e.V. introduced their current book project “Fluchtweg Fünfundzwanzig”, which was written in cooperation with BKB Charity. Gerald Asamoah, who came to Germany as a fugitive eloquently supported this project. The Charity Dinner was moderated by Manuela Strack and Dr. Björn Rodday. Both of them had been to Nepal a short while ago on behalf of BKB Charity to work on a film project about the children of Nepal after the terrible earthquake disaster. Their passionate account of the situation on the spot fascinated the audience above all. An ensemble of the Young Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Berlin under the direction of Aurélien Bello charmed the audience as well as Philadelphia & Band who gave the first performance of her newest song “Children”, which was written and composed especially for BKB Charity and dedicated to the humanitarian initiative BKB Charity.

This gives them the opportunity to further develop their creative potential in the field of music theatre.
